May 24, 2010 · If I were you, I would knock the pitman arm off the box. Then rotate your steering wheel lock to lock counting the turns from left to right (or right to left whatever). Then from full lock on either side, turn it back to center half the number of turns you counted. The steering wheel should wind up straight up.

Sep 23, 2009 · Best bet is removing the steering wheel and clean with warm mild soap and water. I know the early 70's sw were bad about this as well. You may also want to reseal it with clear coat, urethane, or polymer IMO. X2 or you can try some Pledge wood cleaner... Which will make the wheel slippery..

Apr 12, 2007 · I have a GM walnut wheel that is 16 inches (diameter) and is 2 3/4 inches deep. I was told it was for late 68 and 69 camaros .Maybe somebody can tell me any info on this. Thanks. Don't think it is for a 68 Camaro, maybe early 69. 68 should be 16" diameter and 4 inches deep. Maybe some of the experts will chime in.

Jul 3, 2019 · The correct way to center the wheel is to adjust the tie rods. The steering box is also considered centered when the bolt head that clamps the rag joint to the gearbox shaft is pointing up, (after a rough adjustment of counting turns). The mark on the end of the steering shaft should then be at 12:00.
