Vermonters will trek to the polls on Nov. 5 to vote on who will represent them in Montpelier and Washington, D.C.

The lieutenant governor of Vermont is largely a ceremonial position, with only a few key duties: fill in for the governor when they are out of state or unable to do the job, preside over the Senate and help appoint chairs to Senate committees.

Incumbent Bernie Sanders is seeking a fourth term as U.S. senator against Republican Gerald Malloy and multiple minor party candidates.
