Hi there, I'm visiting Jordan the very end of September, planning to stay one night and two days in Amman (visit Jerash and areas around Jerash for a day, one day in the city), then I want to head to Dana Reserve late the second day, arrive before the sun sets. I'm wondering how I can get to the Reserve without a car, and without taking a bus. Is there someone who could pick me up in Amman to take me there?! Thank you! Brianne (woman, traveling solo).

Thank you, Karen! I would love the name of your wonderful driver! I will send you my e address. The eco lodge could have someone for me, but the cost is 100JD. I would like to see if I can find someone for a little less. Thank you, Caroline & Stan! Good to know I can bargain with taxi drivers, but I'm horrible at it! I'm rather new at posting questions on Trip Advisor. It's wonderful!

it depends on how fit you are and how hot it is. It is a long trek - about 14 kms - and not steep though the track is uneven in places. I would encourage you to take a guide, plenty of water and sustenance, pace yourself and take breaks. My wife and I were in our sixties when we did the walk. It took us about six hours starting at the top and we were OK.
